“Instant America: Consumerism as Art”
Exhibition Brochure Design for an American Pop art exhibition @Whitney Museum, NYC
Class Assignment for Graphic Design II class at Pratt Institute (AOS Program,) Spring 2013
Instructor: Anne Fink Bartoc
From point of view of an outsider like me, Americans seem to love everything instant. So I think it would be funny to package the art pieces and have them consume them instantly like instant food. Of course, no theme would be more suitable for the work than ‘Consumerism as Art.’
The Packaging of the brochure is inspired by the astronaut food packaging.

Me, According to others, a semi-autobiography book. I invited many of my friends from my grade school, secondary school, high school and my college friends (both distance and close ones) to write their memories about me.
Material: Mylar card stock paper, transparent sticker, hand stitched
Renzo Piano: Ataraxis Exhibition at MoMa Brochure
Communication Design II class at Pratt institute

Material: Digital Print on 30lb vellum/ folded / Contains a transparent plastic card with information inside
Serenity/Transparent/Elegant; these are my keywords that I think best describe Renzo Piano’s work style. After many experiments with type, materials and other design elements, I came up with thin lines, transparent paper and thin type. These elements allowed me to create sophisticated layers onto my work, which I think could be a good way to reflect Piano’s aesthetic.
Waft Air Freshener Packaging
Packaging Design for Packaging Design I class at Pratt Institute.
The idea is to create a whimsical looking packaging for college students.
Also the concept is to allow user to create their own unique room scents. The fragrances can be mixed when buying more than one and put them side by side. i.g. Lemon+Mint= Lemon mint!
Aftergrow (2012)
A collaboration with a Thai photographer Chantapitch Wiwatchaikamol. the best friend of mine since high school. Aftergrow came from the word “afterglow” that’s from the shiny look of her photographs. I decided to change it the name to Aftergrow because this is the work we’ve done together after we grew up together.
The assignment for this Electronic Page Design II class is to do grid study individually.
Using some chapters from the book, Layout Essential, I experimented with grid in many different ways.
First, I laid down big elements (pictures and headlines) according to the golden rules (the structure of the spiral shell). This was done roughly.
After that, I went into each 5”x7” grid of the page and laid down the text according to the proportion the pictures made on each grid.
By cutting the big picture down into 5”x7” flash cards format, I could see that there are so many possibilities to make new styles of layout.
Retail packaging design for ICP (International Center for Photography,) New York
For this class assignment, I decided to literally take photos of whatever the package is for and put the photo in front of the box. The idea is to emphasis the use of photos. It could be a representation of a memory. It could be a statistic. It also communicates and gives information.
The graphic system used on the box is borrowed from the ICP’s current system, just to be consistent with the whole identity of the museum.
Vacuus Gin Bottle Design
“Vacuus” is a Latin word means “free from.” The concept is to think of what kind of vision a very drunk man would see. The final result is to play with layers of pictures which had been holed in different shapes. When combined together they gave a weird and unexpected effect.
